Containerised Diesel Generator Sets for Facilities Where Downtime Is Not an Option

0 0

Data centres, hospitals and continuous-process factories depend on power every minute of every day. Their standby generators must start, accept load and synchronise without hesitation, every time. MPMC's high-end containerised generator sets are configured specifically for these mission-critical facilities, with redundancy, response speed and testing designed in from the start. From data halls to intensive-care wards, the brief is the same: proven equipment, verified performance and a supplier with the engineering depth to configure every detail.

Engineering for Zero Downtime

Instant Response the Moment Standby Power Is Called

MPMC's critical-power configuration prioritises one-step load acceptance in line with ISO 8528-5, fast automatic changeover (AMF) response through DSE or DEIF controllers, and multi-unit parallel synchronisation with ABB or Schneider motorised circuit breakers. Typical controls are the DSE 4520 MKII for AMF operation and the DEIF AGC 150 for parallel synchronisation.

Redundancy by Design

A typical data-centre installation uses one to four containerised gensets of 1,000 kVA to 3,000 kVA each, powered by Cummins, Perkins or MTU engines. Intelligent load sharing provides N+X redundancy and master-standby rotation, so the facility stays protected even while one unit is being serviced.

Every critical-power unit is built to the same high-end standard as MPMC's power station sets: laser-cut and certified-welded frames, NDT-inspected and pressure-tested chassis, and C4 anti-corrosion coating as standard. Stamford or Leroy-Somer alternators complete the specification, so facility owners can align each unit with their existing maintenance agreements and local service partners.

Long service life in demanding climates

Tested Before It Reaches Site

Each unit is load-tested at 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, 100% and 110% in MPMC's CNAS-accredited test environment, including a constant-temperature room that simulates 40°C or 50°C ambient and replicates the hot-aisle conditions of a data centre. Containerised SC super-silent units reach noise levels as low as 75-91 dB(A) at 1 m and 75% load depending on model, suitable for hospitals and urban sites.

Fuel Autonomy for Extended Operation

Built-in tanks provide 6, 8, 12 or 24 hours of autonomy, with bonded and external tank arrangements available for longer runs, and automatic fuel filling can be integrated, as delivered on MPMC's 4 MW hospital project in New Zealand together with engine block preheaters and parallel load sharing through a DSE8610 controller and ABB 3200 A air circuit breaker.

The UAE data-centre installation shows the detail involved: MTU 20V4000 G63LF engines with Leroy-Somer LSA 53.2 XL13 alternators delivering 6 kV at 50 Hz, with anti-condensation heating and RTD temperature monitoring to protect the windings around the clock. In the US, MPMC supplied 36 MW of data-centre backup power.

Adding Battery Storage for UPS-Level Response

For facilities with renewable energy goals, MPMC's HBD-A battery storage can integrate with the genset array and rooftop PV to provide UPS-level millisecond response, peak shaving and frequency regulation, reducing generator run-time while keeping availability at the highest level.

Hybrid systems are managed through MPMC's self-developed SCADA, which provides real-time remote monitoring, alarm management, proactive maintenance alerts and automated reports, with up to ten years of data stored under an SL3-level cybersecurity framework. With hospitals in New Zealand and China, data centres in the UAE and US and a factory expansion in the UAE among its references, MPMC brings critical-facility owners a partner that understands the engineering standards these sectors expect.
